Corey Naegle, a Junior at Paris High School, has completed his Eagle rank requirements for the Boy Scouts by completing a project for Paris School District. Naegle wanted to honor his friend Jordan Mayfield's legacy by making a buddy bench for each of the buildings in our district. Naegle believes that everyone needs to have a friend or someone to talk to. This sparked the idea of a buddy bench. The buddy bench gives students an opportunity to make friends and eliminates loneliness that some children experience on the playground. Naegle presented his buddy bench to elementary students on Thursday, May 9. Third and fourth grade cub scout members helped Naegle place the bench on the PES playground. There are also benches, made by Naegle, placed on the PMS and PHS campuses as well.
