Dr. Curtis Varnell, science specialist with the Guy Fenter Educational Service Coop, created a space adventure for first grade students at PES today. He explained the parts and functions of a rocket, showing them several prototypes and how they worked. Each first grade classroom will design and build their own rocket to test later this spring with Dr. Varnell. The students also had the opportunity to try on a NASA space suit and eat and drink foods that astronauts consume.
