Day 1 of 4th Grade ATLAS Testing: Complete! Day 2 of 3rd Grade Testing: Done and Dusted! We are so proud of our amazing students for showing up, staying focused, and doing their best on their ATLAS tests! ATLAS Testing Begins! Our 3rd graders are kicking off their ATLAS testing this week, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and determination! To help cheer them on, our hallways are filled with heartfelt letters of encouragement from parents and teachers. From inspiring words to colorful messages, the support surrounding our students is a beautiful reminder that they’re not in this alone. Our 3rd graders had a blast during our Easter Egg Hunt—but with a twist! Each egg was filled with ELA and Math questions to help review for the upcoming ATLAS testing. Students teamed up to solve problems, find eggs, and show off everything they’ve learned this year. Who says test prep can’t be fun? Yesterday ,PES reading interventionist, Chrissy Schluterman read How to Catch the Easter Bunny to Kendra Canada's 2nd grade class. Each student got to meet and pet Mrs. Schluterman's bunnies Carrots and Blueberry. They also all wrote out and designed a trap to catch the Easter Bunny.

Staci Schluterman’s 4th grade math class had some special visitors today to celebrate Dr. Seuss Week! Physical Therapist Cortney VanMeter and PES cafeteria employee Marilyn Rietman took time out of their busy schedules to read with our students — making reading extra fun and showing that books bring everyone together! Our third graders had a wonderful time today with Jennette Gahlot, author of 14 amazing books! Jennette read to the students, shared her love for storytelling, and inspired our young readers to follow their own creative dreams. Exciting News! We are thrilled to announce that our Paris Elementary students demonstrated outstanding growth in math this year and have been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas! Each year, the OEP releases its Outstanding Educational Performance Awards, highlighting schools with exceptional student academic growth on ATLAS. All Paris School District schools will be closed on January 9 and 10, 2025, due to the forecasted winter storm. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. To account for the uncertainty surrounding the storm's timing and impact—including hazardous road conditions and challenges with bus routes—we are announcing these closures in advance to give families time to plan. These closure days will not need to be made up, as the 2024-2025 school calendar includes extra instructional hours to meet state requirements. As winter weather conditions are upon us, we want to take this opportunity to remind you of our procedures for monitoring the weather and notifying families in the event of a school closure or delay. Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We closely monitor weather forecasts and road conditions, in order to make informed decisions regarding the operation of our schools.

As we approach the holiday season, here are a few important dates and events to keep in mind before Christmas Break: 🎅 Santa Shop: December 9–13. Students will have the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts during school hours. 🎶 Christmas Sing-A-Long: Friday , December 13. Performance times are as follows: 8:30-Pre K & K, 9:30- 1st & 2nd, 1:30- 3rd & 4th. Join us for a festive celebration of holiday songs! 📆 Early Dismissal: Friday, December 20. Please plan accordingly. 🎄 Christmas Break: December 23–January 6. School will resume on Tuesday, January 7 Thank you for your continued support. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

As the temperatures drop, we want to ensure all our students stay warm and comfortable. Please remember to send your child to school with a coat or any other cold-weather gear they may need to stay cozy during the day. Weather permitting, we will still be going outside for recess and playground time, so it’s especially important that students are dressed appropriately for the cold. If you need assistance obtaining warm clothing for your child, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher. We're here to help! Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and warm this winter.
